As a non-bonded tour operator, King of the Mountains do not offer travel
included in the cost of their holidays. However, we can advise you as to what
is easiest and cheapest.
The nearest airport to the King of the Mountains chalet is Grenoble (St Geoirs), which takes around 1hr 20mins in average traffic conditions.
NB: All times quoted are local prevailing time. The information provided below is a guide, better information is available at source from individual carriers, so please check there too.
Grenoble (St Geoirs) airport is served by Easyjet , who fly there in the summer months from London Luton, and in the winter from London Stansted. There is only one flight per day and the outbound flight leaves the UK at 11:10, arriving in Grenoble at 13:50. Return flights leave Grenoble at 14:20, arriving in Luton at 15:00. Ryanair are now also running a daily service between London Stansted and Grenoble (St Geoirs), leaving London Stansted at 10:05, arriving at 12:50. The return service leaves Grenoble at 13:15, arriving in Stansted at 14:00.
St Etienne airport is served by Ryanair from London Stansted. Again, only one flight per day. The outbound flight leaves the UK at 12:10, arriving in St Etienne at 14:45. Return flights leave St Etienne at 15:45, arriving in Luton at 16:20.
Lyon (Saint Exupéry, sometimes known as Lyon Satolas) airport is served by British Airways from London Heathrow (several flights each day), as well as Birmingham, Edinburgh and Manchester. Easyjet also fly to Lyon.
Geneva airport is served by Easyjet , but is a long transfer from the chalet. Chambery and Valence are also possibilities. All three of the above would be options for those wishing to self drive, but it might be difficult to arrange transfers from these airports, particularly if guests are also arriving at other airports on the same day.
NB: Please let us know the details of flights you are considering booking when you book your holiday so that we can best co-ordinate transfers and not have anyone sitting around waiting at airports for too long!
