As a non-bonded tour operator, King of the Mountains do not offer travel
included in the cost of their holidays. However, we can advise you as to what
is the easiest and most economical way to get to us.
The nearest airport to the King of the Mountains chalet is Grenoble-Isere, (sometimes referred to as Grenoble St Geoirs).Travel time takes around 1hr 30mins in average traffic conditions. During summer 2010, summer flights into Grenoble from the UK were halted. We are awaiting the release of the new schedules to see if UK flights will be resumed in summer 2012.
Lyon Saint Exupéry, (sometimes referred to as Lyon Satolas), is only 2 hours away from us and is served by British Airways, Ryanair and Easyjet
Geneva airport is served by Easyjet and by British Airways but is a long transfer from the chalet (typically 2hr 30 mins to 3 hours). Geneva airport would be a good option for those wishing to fly-drive. It may be difficult for us to arrange transfers from Geneva, particularly if other guests are also arriving at other airports on the same day.
NB: Please let us know the details of flights you are considering when you book your holiday with us so that we can best co-ordinate transfers and not have anyone sitting around waiting at airports for too long! In some exceptional circumstances, due to logistics of incoming/outgoing transfers and flights, we may be unable to provide a transfer service.

All of the above airports offer a good choice of car rental (see our Links page page for suggestions). Travel to us from these airports is mainly via toll roads (see driving directions in following section). It is worth considering the size of vehicle required if travelling with serveral large bike boxes or bags.
If travelling from the south east of England, the Eurostar is a fantastic and easy way to travel, it takes only 6 hours to reach Grenoble including one simple change in Paris (Paris Nord to Paris Gare de Lyon). Grenoble train station also has a good choice of hire car providers.
