ALPE D'HUEZ LONG WEEKENDS

The experience of a lifetime in a weekend! The ideal short break for those with limited time. Includes an officially timed ascent, souvenir photograph all meals and airport transfers. Contact us for further details and availability.

ALPE D'HUEZ TRIATHLON 2009

The 2009 Alpe d'Huez triathlon events will take place between Sunday 26th and Thursday 30th July 2009. The two main events include a bike ascent of the Alpe d'Huez, with the "Long" race taking place on Wednesday 29th July and the "Olympic distance" race on Thursday 30th July. This week of events goes from strength to strength.

The women's "Long" race has been won the last two years by Britain's Hawaii Ironman World Champion Chrissie Wellington.

RIDES

A wealth of spectacular riding is accessible from our chalet including legendary climbs and cols of the Tour de France such as Alpe d'Huez, the Col du Galibier, the Col du Glandon and many more. We are always happy to suggest routes and itineraries using our strong local knowledge, we also provide riders with detailed maps and routecards.Further Info

EXCURSIONS

During your holiday with King of the Mountains you can take advantage of a supported ride with following vehicle, such as the popular ' MarmotteCyclosportive' route. We organise several day trips throughout the season for riders who wish to participate in cyclosportive events that are held in our local area. Further Info

There are a number of other ways to enjoy the mountains in the area too Other Activities . We are located on the edge of the Ecrins National Park , where there is an abundance of beautiful walks to be explored as well as climbing and mountaineering. Fishing, paragliding, mountain biking , white water rafting and summer skiing/snowboarding are just a few of the other activities available to you during your holiday.

We provide fully catered accommodation. Each day starts with a hearty breakfast, followed by post-ride pasta salads and home-made cakes in the afternoon, and in the evening a delicious home-cooked, 3-course meal with wine. We take a pride in all of our cooking and prepare varied and well-balanced meals using the freshest and best ingredients available to us.
