The Tour de France route for 2015 was announced by race organisers A.S.O. on 22nd October 2014. It's a climber's Tour and will suit the young and resurgent French riders, who tend to climb better than they can time trial. It is in our area right before the finish in Paris, so the stages here will likely be very exciting. It is reachable by car for all of the final week, with it on our doorstep and viewable by bike from Thurday 23rd July anywhere between La Mure and the col de la Croix de Fer, where the race will pop over the col du Glandon before finishing in Saint Jean de Maurienne. On Friday 24th July, we will be able to watch the riders come up the Glandon from the Maurienne side, then over the col de la Croix de Fer summit, before finishing at La Toussuire ski resort. The punchy stage on Saturday 25th July is a repeat of the great day from the 2011 Tour, won by Pierre Rolland, tracking a classic route from Modane, over the cols de Telegraphe and Galibier, before hurtling down the valley to finish the day atop the legendary Alpe d'Huez. The riders then jump on a train to Paris for the usual champagne photo opportunities and sprint royale on the Champs Elysees.
The experience of a lifetime in a weekend! The ideal short break for those with limited time. Includes an officially timed ascent, souvenir photograph and all meals. Contact us for further details and availability.
